"Plus" Strategy Focus: Wind Power Investment Surges

In stark contrast to the divestment of PV assets, SPIC has been "racing at full speed" in the wind power sector.

At the group's work conference in early 2025, SPIC clearly proposed the "balanced development" strategy, frequently mentioning the wind power business. Over the past year, both the scale of its wind power projects under construction and the approved scale of offshore wind power projects have reached record highs.

Data shows that in 2024, SPIC added nearly 10 million kW of new wind power installations, up 19.06% YoY, with a cumulative installed capacity of 60.59 million kW, just a step away from the 66.3 million kW installed capacity of China Energy Group, the "top dog" in wind power. In comparison, the growth rate of new PV installations in the same year slowed down by 4.58%. The "one increase and one decrease" clearly indicates a shift in strategic focus.
